Delivery times

Description
Some pieces do not need loud ornamentation. This 925 sterling silver saucer lies flat and calm, with a polished mirror in the center that lets the cup take center stage. Four understated niello ornaments are spaced evenly along the rim – small diamond-shaped shields with acanthus volutes, framed at the sides and accompanied by delicate floral motifs at the top and bottom. The rim remains intentionally clear between the four motifs, creating an interplay of decoration and silence instead of a closed, continuous border.

Material and workmanship
The niello – a silver technique dating back around 3,000 years – is applied in 15 steps at the SevChern manufactory. It forms a chemical-physical bond with the silver; it is not a lacquer or a coating that could peel off. With every polishing, the contrasts between the bright silver and the dark ornament deepen, so that the saucer gains expression over time rather than fading. The Verbena line also includes a teapot and a teacup – all three pieces share the same diamond-acanthus vocabulary, each with its own character in the details.
Use and occasions
This saucer is intended for everyday use, not for the display cabinet – it casually tells the table that style was kept in mind here. Care
Polish with a soft silver cleaning cloth; do not use ultrasonic cleaners or aggressive detergents. The niello handles normal use without any problems but should not be subjected to unnecessary wear during polishing.

Niello is not a coating; it forms a chemical-physical bond with the silver. It does not peel off – on the contrary, the contrasts deepen with every polishing.
